Running Revolution Ayiti is a nonprofit organization that supports Haitian children and young adults attending school and university. We started by organizing running events and using the entry fees and donations to sponsor students in Haiti.

Running Revolution Ayiti is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that helps children with education and food, and supports adults 25 years old and under in finishing their education. We also help people relocate during shootings or natural disasters. Once someone is in the program, we do our best to support them until they complete their education.

We raise funds in different ways:

Through running:
Our races in Haiti and the U.S. are how it all started, and every dollar raised went to the kids.

Through coffee:
Kafe Libète is our coffee project. We roast it in small batches at CoRo Coffee Room in Berkeley, and every bag sold helps pay tuition. Right now we offer two coffees: La Fleur and Lakay.

 

How are money and resources distributed?

Tuition funds are sent to Albert Joseph, head coach of the club, and some schools we pay directly.

Albert and Roseline Gaspard, our training coach, walk to each school to pay in person and send us receipts for accountability.

• Coffee supplies: green coffee, roasting time, bags and labels

 

Volunteer support

Board members do not get paid: Wisly Pierre, Ronda Melendez, Ashli Moody, and Dwayne Shaw.

• Dwayne donates his time to create our logos, labels, and flyers.

• Ronda Melendez painted the label art for our coffees, connected us with our label printer, and advises us on grants and pricing.

• Ashli Moody donates her time to manage our taxes and supports our events.

• Meghan writes the stories behind our coffees.

• Wisly Pierre develops fundraising ideas, roasts our coffee, helps run events, and coordinates tasks among team members.
